Round
6 – Wrexham
August
3rd was the 6th round of this years TORC series. Both
Ryan and Jake took part in the event, both in the 13.5/27 turn Stock class.
The heats begun, Ryan in 4 and Jake in 5. The weather forecast was very
promising for the day and the sun was shining brightly from 7am. The heats
got underway at 9:15 after the drivers briefing. After qualifying Ryan was
12th (2nd in the B) and Jake was 6th.
Finals started promptly at 1 after the lunch break. Ryan started
promisingly making a move into the first corner for the lead. He did well
and held off continuing challenges until 3 minutes. It looked as if his
tyres had gone off. He then dropped down to 7th position and
finished there. Jake started his final from 6th on the grid. He
made a good move up into 5th on the first lap and was consistently
lapping well, he moved himself up into 3rd overall where he
finished. The second finals were extremely similar to the first. Ryan ended
up 9th in the B, with Jake 7th. Overall this put Ryan
8th in the B with Jake 5th in the A.
The
next round of the TORC championship is at Bedworth but the next report will
be from Broxtowe in early September.
